Cabin Snowglobe
by Sue McRae
Hello everyone, Sue here with a card using the Cabin Snowglobe Pop Up Easel Die Set. This is such a wonderful set for creating charming Christmas, winter, or anytime of the year cards. It’s perfect for making masculine cards, which I know can be difficult to create.
I went with a frosty look in blues, pinks and purples for my design. For the background I inked up the circle die cut with Distress Inks and sprayed it heavily with Perfect Pearls for lots of shimmer.
To create a swirly, windy sky I embossed this piece with the Waves 3D Embossing Folder. Love how it turned out!
I die cut all my different scene pieces with a variety of Memory Box coloured and glitter cardstock.
For the snowglobe base I used the White Woodgrain Paper and ink blended some gray on top.
You can really play around with all the layers and add foam adhesive to create depth and dimension. I added foam dots between the house and yellow window background for some nice shadows.
The great thing about this popup card, is that it fits into an A2 envelope, even with all the layers and added dimension.
I stamped a simple sentiment on the inside of the card so that there’s lots of room for adding a personal message.
Just think how different this card would look for spring with grass instead of snow, some added flowers and blooming trees and a bright sky inked in yellow and orange.
Thanks for visiting with me on the blog today!
