Fairy Sugar Ornaments by Sue McRae

Hello crafters! Sue here with a very glittery card using a technique I’ve showcased several times over the last couple of years. Any guesses?

It’s the glitter glue technique where I adhere 4 layers of cardstock together and attach it to my card panel. I now have a nice deep well to squeeze my Memory Box Fairy Sugar Glitter Glue into. There are so many pretty colours of glitter glue that you can really customize your colour scheme.

I used the Ornament Background Die for my card but there are several die styles that were released for Christmas that would be perfect with this technique such as in Holly Ring, Poinsettia Background, Brilliant Star Oval and Double Joy.

The glitter glue drops in height when it dries and some of them are more translucent than others which creates a totally different look. I added a top layer of the die cut from gold metallic cardstock which adds some richness and shine.

I hope you give this technique a try, it’s a lot of fun and I find it very relaxing. I also think it’s an easy project for kids to try out.
