Colorful Ornament Background
by Jeanne Jachna
Hi and thanks for stopping by! It's been getting colder here and my thoughts are quickly turning to the holidays. I'm looking forward to some quiet days at home with the family maybe playing board games, dominos or cards while munching on some home made cookies. It's not so much about the games or the food, it's about catching up and making memories.
The new Ornament Background die makes cardmaking a snap. It's big enough to cover an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.5") and is very versatile. It would look great on a simple distress ink background or using an inlay technique like my card.
The ornaments are gorgeous inlaid in solid rainbow cardstocks or in elegant glitter golds and metallic. I just needed a little "more" lol so I adhered mine to a color block background.
To create a color block background simply cut strips of colorful cardstock, adhere them together on their reverse side to create a panel and then trim the panel to cover your card front. The Merry Christmas Poe Script seemed to disappear into the background so I added a second cut from gold foil cardstock. The little peek of the gold from behind the white die cut helps define the sentiment.
The finishing touch was cutting the ornament toppers from gold foil because everything is better with a little bling. No matter your style - clean and simple or loaded with color this die is a total winner!
