Just Keep Swimming
by Candice Crawford
Hi there crafty friends, hope you all are enjoying your summer. Today I am on the blog sharing a cute summer theme card using the new wave 3D embossing folder from MemoryBox, the Whittle Fish Trio dies and sWhittle Sealife Sentiments stamp set from Poppystamps.
To begin you will need to color a 5.5 inch by 4.25 inch piece of white cardstock with Tumbled Glass, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks. Be sure to blend the colors well with your Ink Blending tool.
Next emboss the inked cardstock with the wave 3D embossing folder. Remember to use the correct sandwich of plates for your specific die cut machine when embossing with 3D embossing folders.
Now take a sanding block or a piece of fine grit sandpaper and sand off some of the ink from the raised embossed areas on the cardstock. The white portion of cardstock will appear and provide a nice highlight. The waves become so defined with this technique.
Next, die cut the fish from the trio fish die 3 times from white cardstock. The trio fish can all be cut with one pass with your die cutting machine. Then colored each of your fish with your favorite color medium. I am using Copic Markers in Y17, G23, B32 and R83.
Then stamp the“Just Keep Swimming” sentiment from the Whitle Sealife Sentiments stamp set onto a white die cut circle with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Adhere the colored fish onto the circle cardstock piece with liquid adhesive.
Lastly die cut s stitched circle frame from grey cardstock using the Poppystamps Double Stitch Cirle Frames die and adhere the circle frame to the white circle with some liquid adhesive. Then pop the entire circle die cut image onto the embossed wave background with foam tape. Adhere your card front to an A2 size card base and you are done.
I hope you have ejoyed today's cardshare and tutorial. These Whittle dies and coordinating sentiments make quick and easy cards. Until next time. Happy Crafting.
