Cheers!

Welcome back to the blog, crafty friends! Tiffany here with a a fun, Art Deco inspired card using products from the newest release, Summer Theater! If you haven't seen it yet, head over to the shop after reading this blog. It's so pretty and will add a little drama to your Poppystamps collection. My card is pretty straightforward so let's get into it!
The main elements of my card use the Geometric Deco Plate background die. First, I used this die to die cut two A2-sized panels - once from light gold cardstock from the Polished Foil Pad and once from dark yellow cardstock. I adhered the gold frame on top of the yellow frame with liquid glue, offsetting the frames the slightest bit so you can see the yellow peek out. I adhered the layered frame to an A2-sized piece of dark navy cardstock.
You could leave it like this and add your sentiment, but I wanted to step it up a bit. After my frame was complete, I used the Geometric Deco Plate die to die cut two additional A2 panels - once from seafoam green and once from aqua cardstock from the Fresh Aqua Collection paper pack. I used the negative die cut pieces to inlay into my gold frame. I did not want to cover the whole thing as I loved the dark navy, so I strategically adhered various pieces of green and aqua pieces throughout my card. I love this technique because I enjoy puzzles. I think the final results are so pretty and dramatic. It reminds me of stained glass. Imagine all of the beautiful color combinations that are possible!
For the sentiment, I first created the frame around the sentiment. The frame is die cut from one of the pieces that comes with the Geometric Deco Plate die. I reversed the order for some interest and glued the dark yellow frame on top of the gold frame, again offsetting it a tiny bit. Inside the sentiment frame, I glued three layers of the interior section together for dimension and popped it up on foam tape. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Art Deco Birthday Greetings stamp set in white embossing powder on the light gold cardstock.
I made a mistake while heat embossing the sentiment. I applied my anti-static powder bag all over the gold foil and when it was time to wipe it away, the anti-static powder was stuck to the foil. I tried to rub it off with a little water and it did not work. I tried to rub it away with a little isopropyl alcohol, and it worked! But, it worked too well because the alcohol rubbed off the gold coating too! I do not think it is very noticeable since the gold was so light initially, but I wanted to share what happened in case it prevents any of you from making the same mistake. Until next time, happy crafting!

Hi Tiffany, Such a gorgeous art deco style card, and the colours are exactly what I would think resonated with the art deco era, it is amazing !! Thank you for the great tip, but I can't see your mistake.
Take care.
