Blooming Thank You and Hello by Tiffany Pryce

Hey crafty friends! Today, I'm sharing how I combined color blocking and embossing folders. I wanted to see if I could use my embossing folder in a slightly different way for a new look.

First, I selected four colors of cardstock and cut each piece down to 5.75 x 4.5 inches. This would be a great chance to create a monochromatic card or play with a unique color combo you've been meaning to try. I used the Sunny Orange paper pack and the Fresh Aqua paper pack for my two cards. I then created an A2 template from copy paper to map out my cut marks. You can create your template however you'd like, but I think the fewer lines, the easier it is to complete the final card panel.

Since the template is smaller than your cardstock, use a ruler to extend the lines so you know where to cut on each cardstock panel. I used temporary adhesive to glue two cardstock panels together so I could cut two panels together at one time.

Once your panels are cut, add adhesive to the template, select the pieces in the order you would like, and adhere to the template. Once all four color blocks are adhered together, run through the embossing folder using the instructions for your die cutting machine. I think creating the color block panel before running through the Blooming 3D Embossing Folder is much, much easier than embossing each piece of cardstock and then trying to piece it together. Ask me how I know, haha (the yellow panel was done the hard way)! After embossing, trim down the panel to an A2 size.

To finish the cards, I kept it pretty simple. For the blue panel, I lightly rubbed white pigment ink over the panel to add ink to the raised areas. I die cut a vellum circle from the Stitched Circle Layers die and die cut the Thank You Flourish die four times from white cardstock. Finally, I added several Fairy Drops for a little shine.

For the yellow panel, I trimmed it down to slightly less than an A2 card. I lightly rubbed gold pigment ink over the panel to add ink to the raised areas. Then, I die cut the Hello Folksy Script die three times from white cardstock and once from gold foil cardstock from the Polished Foil paper pack. I adhered the sentiment with foam tape on top of a simple wreath made from the Garden Leaves and Berries die.
