Wishes and Washi
by Nancy Penir
Well hello and welcome. Nancy here, and I'm sharing a card made with Poppystamps' Diamond Sentiments stamp and die set.
I have the shop link below, and I think you'll find plenty of sentiments included in the set to fit many occasions. Here's an easy way to use the set.
Memory Box's Open Studio has several extra wide Washi tapes that are perfect for creating quick and easy backgrounds. This luscious floral instantly and easily covers a card base. I added a layer of yellow vellum (Hobby Lobby), allowing my die cut to take center stage on the card.
The stamp is a large one, nearly covering an A2 sized panel. I decided to give it bling, and gold embossed the image, before cutting it out.
Next, to color and add the sentiment. So many sentiments included with this set! This card could be for a birthday, or wedding, etc. The leaves are colored with Arteza Ink pens. I haven't used them in a while, and I'm very happy with the bright and bold colors they produce! Add a sentiment (dark green embossed), pop up the die cut, and add a few gems, and done!
Have you tried the wide washi tapes? So versatile, I used one for the lining of my handmade envelope. Makes a greeting extra special to have a matching envelope.
I make many of my own envelopes, using paper rather than cardstock, and lining with the wide washi.
Hope you'll try using washi for your next projects. Be sure to check all the new products in the Poppystamps and Memory Box
(Open Studio) stores!
Have a wonderful weekend, hope it's extra crafty!

Hi Nancy, Beautiful !! Everything on this card is beautiful, The stamp and embossing and colouring, the washi background, all come together to produce this beautiful card. I especially love your use of the vellum, it diffuses the colours of the background and provides an 'ethereal' feel.
Enjoy your weekend.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
