Spring Into Spring
by Michele K. Henderson
Hello Friends!
Thanks so much for dropping by our Poppystamps blog today! The snow is finally moving out and sunny spring days are moving in. Let's celebrate with a bright spring card. Take a look!
To create this happy hummingbird scene, I started with the Wavy Long Picket Fence and the Hill and Valley Grass Border, and aligned them to look like a grassy back yard. Then I added a piece of blue card stock behind the fence.
Once everything was in place, I then cut out my frame in a deeper blue, and framed it exactly where I wanted it to create the scene. Sometimes, you want to see more grass in front, and other times, more sky above. Since I knew my focus would be on the hummingbirds, I raised the frame higher up on the grass.
To make the Little Hummingbirds, I dripped alcohol ink on YUPO paper in shades of green to create this pretty jeweled look, then cut out the hummingbirds. I love the way the colors swirl.
I added the hummingbirds, and a few bright daisies from the Fern and Daisy Pop Up Easel Set. These dimensional daisies really make my card pop. For the finishing touch, I added a few brand new Memory Box Open Studio Fairy Jewels. You are going to LOVE these!
Thanks so much for joining us today!
