Challenge Reminder: Lattice Rainbow
by Kim Singdahlsen
This month's challenge is Sending Rainbows.
My rainbow is a rainbow of color in all the little squares of the Lattice Plate. It was fun and easy to do and created a fabulous background for the bold "Hugs"!
I used a variety of the new cardstock from Memory Box. I didn't want to waste any. I figured I would use more than three squares of each color so I cut a small strip then just cut a small portion of the die.
I cut the Lattice Plate in white then adhered it to my card base. Then I just enjoyed piecing together my rainbow.
The Luscious Script Hugs seemed bold enough to hold its own with all of the color. After I cut and placed that, I wanted a way to highlight it. I used Three Intricate Cut Butterflies in the same rainbow colors. I wanted them to pop, so I actually ended up trading out the plain cardstock color beneath them for some coordinating polka dots. It's subtle, but I like that there's a bit of a difference under the butterflies.
This was so much fun to create. I've used the Lattice Plate in a previous card on this blog. On that card, I placed patterned paper behind it and it was a lovely look. This card is quite different - the Lattice Plate is a good basic die that can be used in multiple ways.
I hope to see you playing along with the Sending Rainbows challenge. As you can see, an actual rainbow isn't required - I've just used color for my rainbow!

Awwww..... Love, love, love this! Such amazing way to use the lattice die and scraps of papers! The three butterflies are so cute!!! Great design and inspiration!
Hi Kim, This card is a definite 'labour or love', you must have lots of patience paper-piecing all the coloured diamonds back into the lattice die-cut. It is beautiful.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
I think you must be channeling Laura Bassen with the pretty rainbow effect of this card!
This looks just wonderful. I am not wondering which of the dies I already have would do the same thing. THANKS
