Happy Easter Easel Card
by Sue McRae
Happy Monday! Sue here with a pop up Easter card today. I can’t believe Easter is less than 3 weeks away. I hope that means that spring is just around the corner.
For my card I used the new Woven Basket Pop Up Easel Set which is perfect for making an Easter basket filled with eggs and bunnies.
I die cut the basket from kraft cardstock, left the die cut in the die and ran it through my die cutting machine with an embossing mat so that all the beautiful woven texture on the basket really pops. In the pic above the basket on the right was just run through the die cut machine once and the basket on the left was run through a second time with an embossing mat. You can really see how much dimension you get in the design by using an embossing mat.
To add more texture and depth and a bit of shine I used a sponge dauber to add gold acrylic paint on the raised areas.
I die cut the Spring Bunnies from the new Madras Plaid Blue & Violet Paper Pack. The plaid papers in this pad are wonderful and some of them have gold metallic lines in the design.
I took the Farm Fresh Eggs die and die cut them from a bunch of different cardstocks and I also used the grass die that comes in the Woven Basket Set and die cut it twice to add some depth to the basket.
After some fiddling to see what eggs would go where and the placement of the bunnies my basket was filled!
For the inside of the easel card I cut three layers of the Splendid Happy Easter sentiment and adhered it near the bottom. The sentiment is also what holds up the card front for displaying.
This card will mail flat and will fit into an A2 envelope just like all the Pop Up Easel Sets that Poppystamps makes. Love that!
The Woven Basket is a great die to add to your stash. It can be used all year long and filled with different items like a bunch of flowers for spring, fall leaves, pumpkins or how about a basket of ornaments for Christmas. Lots of possibilities with this die set.
Thanks for visiting with me and I hope you have a magical week!

This is so cute! I love the basket, and how you shaded it. And the googly eyes are just perfect. My grandkids LOVE googly eyes, so I have a bunch on hand :)
