You Made My Day
by Sue McRae
Happy Tuesday everyone! Sue here with a slimline card. It’s actually my first attempt at a slimline card and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. It’s a fun size to try different card design ideas. My slimline card measures 3.5” x 8.5” and can fit into a #10 business envelope.
I decided to make a colourful background with pieces of scrap cardstock that I cut into a variety of widths. I played around with the colours until I was happy, applied adhesive to the card base and adhered the strips.
Next I took the largest Whittle Circles Frame and die cut it 9 times from grey cardstock and adhered 3 frames together to create one thicker frame. I offset each layer when I adhered it because I like the dimension and depth it added to the frame.
Did you know there are some new animal friends that were added to the Whittle Family? I used three of the newest animals, the Squirrel, Sloth and Papa Hedgehog on my card. I die cut them from white cardstock and added them inside the wreaths. They are so cute!
I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Whittle Love stamp set and finished off with a few gems.
This card makes me happy with its rainbow background and adorable critters and the slimline size was perfect for this design.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
