Fern and Daisy
by Candice Crawford
Hey there crafty friends, hope you all are enjoying your day.
Have you seen the new release from Poppystamps? Today, I am featured on the blog showcasing the new Fern and Daisy Pop-Up Easel set. This die set makes the most adorable easel card. But it also makes a wonderful card front focal image for regular A2 size cards as shown in my project today.
To get started, you will first need to die cut the background panel from a piece of white card stock and the oval fern frame from a piece of green colored card stock. I am using a sage colored card stock from the new 6x6 Lush Green collection paper pack called Lush Green from Memory Box.
Next with your Alcohol Markers in shades of green, add some depth and dimension shadows to the leaf images of the fern frame. For some of the fern pieces I colored them in a deeper shade of green for added interest. Then adhere the fern frame to the white background panel with some liquid adhesive.
Next, die cut an oval shape from both a piece of white card stock and gold card stock using the oval die that comes in the set. Because the oval die cut provides raised outline trim on the edge, I used my scissors to trim about 1/8 of an inch off of the white oval piece following this outline. I then sponged on some tumble glass Distress Oxide ink to the center and stamped my sentiment in Versa fine Onyx Black ink. The sentiment comes from the new Diamond Sentiment stamp set.
Next I die cut the white daisy flower images from scraps of white card stock from my stash. I added Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink to the flower petals along with a dollop of Black Nuvo drops to each of the flower centers. I popped some of the flower images up on to the Fern frame with some dimensional foam tape. I also die cut 3 butterfly images and coordinating wings from the die set with some gold card stock. Two of the butterfly images were popped up with foam tape.
Lastly I adhered the decorated panel to a 4.0 x 5.25 piece of yellow card stock then glued the entire card front to an A2 size white notecard.
This card is absolutely stunning. I hope you have enjoyed today's card share and tutorial. Until next time....happy crafting.
