For a Whittle Animal Lover
by Kim Singdahlsen
I have been making cards for a very long time - and I still love doing it. One of the many reasons I love it is the ability to truly customize a card for the recipient. I have a co-worker's birthday this week and I have been stumped. I don't know her well. I do know she is an animal lover. I know she's not a girly-girl (based on her passion for Star Wars and Harry Potter). I have parts of multiple birthday cards on my desk, none of which were quite right. I decided to take a break and move over to my card for today's Poppystamps post and as I flipped through my dies, it all came together in an instant. There are so many wonderful Whittles for her love of animals. Then in the newest release there is the Happy Birthday Poe Script which seemed just perfect to frame a row of whittles.
That row of Whittles makes me smile! I'm sure she will too. I fit them around the "happy birthday" then I added dimensional adhesive on a few. Finally I added a few gems just to keep it sparkly and celebratory.
I used a blue floral paper from Memory Box which kept it feminine but not girly. But can you imagine doing this in pinks and maybe replacing the forest animals with the unicorn and hearts. Or going with a bold stripe and using all of the zoo Whittles. Just tuck a cupcake in amongst them and add your favorite birthday sentiment - perfect for an animal lover!
I love working with these little guys. And with a fun die-cut sentiments and just the right paper, it came together quickly for a sweet birthday card!
