Challenge Reminder
by Sue McRae
Hello everyone! I’m here with a reminder about Poppystamps January Challenge, Monochrome. This has to be one of my favourite colour schemes because I’m not so great at using lots of different colours on one card (unless it’s a rainbow).
Monochrome is defined as a project created in shades of black and white or in varying tones of one color. To keep it simple you can create in shades of black white and grey or in ombre shades of any color you like (with the addition of black and white). You can choose any occasion or event - all types of projects welcome including but not limited to cards, page layouts, tags, gifts, home decor and more! It's your choice, just be sure to use at least one Poppystamps image (stamp or die) on your project!
For my card I die cut the Winged Bird Collage from white card stock and then die cut the Whittle Spinner Background three times around the bird.
I took four colours of teal card stock and cut them into ¼” strips and adhered them to the back of the bird. I really love how the stripey colours make the bird pop and seem like it’s flying.
I created a circular frame using two nesting dies from the Circle Basics die set and added that around the focal piece.
The sentiment is the Doodle Happy Birthday die cut three times from card stock so it’s nice and thick. I thought this would make an excellent masculine card so I didn’t add any embellishments.
Now it’s your turn to play along with our challenge. Create a project following the theme, use at least one Poppystamps image or die, and link it up here. The design we love best will receive our winner badge to proudly display on their blog, and one lucky random winner will receive a prize. You don't have to have a blog to play. You can link to any online gallery. In fairness to other players, we reserve the right to remove entries that do not use at least one Poppystamps image. We ask that you link a maximum of 3 entries to each challenge. You are welcome to link your design to other challenges. Grab our badge to post on your blog post or sidebar!
I can’t wait to see your projects!

Hi Sue, A really lovely monochrome card, I love the spirals you have created, and I love, love, love the strips you have used on the winged bird, it is so very effective.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
