Magical Holiday Season
by Kim Singdahlsen
The Joyous Christmas Wishes stamp set has absolutely beautiful sentiments - both the words and the fonts. Although they are already on the inside of many of my Christmas cards, they are showcase sentiments and deserve to be on the front!!
I used the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Trimmings to frame the sentiment. Then I cut out Whittle Birds in red and the Small Blooming Poinsettia in a pink/coral tone and the leaves in a Christmas green. The branches of berries are from Garden Leaves and Berries cut from the Memory Box Polished Foil Pad. Here's the top grouping of these elements.
I love the detail in all of these dies. There's wonderful texture on the poinsettia and leaves and check out the detail on that bird!
Groupings of elements like this can be tough to do. You get them arranged and then you have to figure out how to pick them up to adhere them without "un-arranging" them. The magic to that is in your kitchen - it's the kitchen wrap that is self-sealing just by pressing it! Get your die cut arrangement lined up as you want it. Press a small square of wrap over it. Be sure to press it onto every part of every pieces. Then carefully pick the whole thing up, put adhesive on the back and put it back down. If you are a liquid glue person like me - give it a second to dry before peeling off the kitchen wrap.
There are some layers you can't adhere using the kitchen wrap - because they are on top of other layers. So in this case, I had already glued the poinsettia before I arranged it all.
I balanced the top arrangement with the little Whittle Bird (say that fast!) at the bottom.
This is truly a beautiful sentiment set. As you can see it doesn't need a lot of decoration - it is enough on its own. But on the other hand, it is so detailed and so elegant that you could add paper and many layers of diecuts and the sentiment will still stand out. Not to mention, they are also wonderful sayings for the inside of your cards.
I hope you have magical holiday!!
