Challenge Reminder - Anything BUT a card
by Candice Crawford
Hello Friends! It is Candice here today to remind you about our monthly challenge. This month the challenge is to create Anything But a card. Next to making cards, my next favorite project to make are gift tags. For this month's challenge I am sharing with you a Christmas tag that is clean and simple and easy to mass produce. I hope you get a chance to join us in the challenge as you might just be the lucky winner!
Want to play?
The rules are simple - just create a project following this month's theme, use at least one Poppystamps image or die, and link it up here. The design we love best will receive our winner badge to proudly display on their blog, and one lucky random winner will receive a prize. You don't have to have a blog to play. You can link to any online gallery. In fairness to other players, we reserve the right to remove entries that do not use at least one Poppystamps image. We ask that you link a maximum of 3 entries to each challenge. You are welcome to link your design to other challenges. Grab our badge to post on your blog post or sidebar!
To create this tag, I started by die cutting the Double Stitch Tag Frame base from a sheet of 6x6 pattern paper from the Christmas Plaid paper pad. This die cuts out both a tag and a frame. I simply paper piece the tag and coordinating frame back together as one piece on to a sheet of white cardstock and fussy cut the tag and punch a hole in the center with a handle held hole punch.
Next I cut the Stained Glass Snowflake Background from a piece of Red Glitter Cardstock and the coordinating Stained Glass Snowflake from a piece of Gold Metalic Paper. I then adhered the Framed snowflake on top of the glittered snowflake piece. These two dies can be used both separately and together to create stunning snowflake images for your holiday projects.
Next I stamped the Merry and Bright Sentiment from the new Christmas Quotes stamp set with Versamark ink onto a scrap piece of black cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and my heat gun. I die cut the sentiment strip with the coordinating die that comes along with the stamp set.
To assemble the tag, I adhered the layered snowflake onto the tag base with some foam tape. Then added the sentiment strip on top of the layered snowflake also with some foam tape. To finish the tag I added some red satin ribbon to the top of the tag with a piece of black and white bakers twine.
I hope you have enjoyed today's project and found inspiration.
Now it's your turn! Need a little more motivation? How about a prize? The winner (chosen at random) of this challenge will receive a $20 Gift Certificate to spend on their favorites from the store!
You have until 12 am US EST on December 27 to link up your design here! We'll start a new challenge and announce the winners on January 1.
Thanks for joining us! We can't wait to see what you make!
