Christmas Bird House Easel Card
by Nancy Penir
Hello and here we go folks, Christmas is right around the corner! Are your cards ready? No pressure, but if I could offer a rather simple suggestion, a die cut card that really packs a wow, read on...
The Bird House card is a complete die set ready to purchase in the shop, and between you and me, if you like bold and beautiful, and fun to do, this set is for you.
The large main die needs to be cut twice, and then glued only on the flaps, as pictured below.
This is your base. The rest of the bird house elements are included in the set.
This is a versatile set, and can be adapted for any time of year. The cardinal and fir dies are included to make a Christmas card. You'll notice I cut the bird twice, and fussy cut out the black eye area and beak. These I colored with copics. The fir needles were cut from white cardstock and sponge inked before adding German Glass Glitter. These will form a wreath the bird will nest in.
Simple details make this Christmas card pop! Like the snow on the top of the roof, and dripping underneath the wreath.
The easel rests or catches on a Merry Christmas die cut that fit perfectly on the bottom. LOVE it when that happens!
I did a little stenciling around the inside sentiment. there's also a matching envelope I created with stencils. The stencils are easy, just die cut what you want to stencil from vellum, and use the negative space to stencil with.
Hope you're inspired to try one of the new pop up easel die sets available in the shop. Have a wonderful week!
