A Snowy Christmas

11.20 Snowy Christmas (1) 640

I love the sparkle of Christmas!  Inside there are Christmas tree lights and candles.  I live in Colorado so outside we have the sparkle of the snow!  I was not going to let the season go by without using the Snowy Merry Christmas die.

I cut it out of a red velvet paper, then I left it in the die which has cut outs for the snow.  I covered it with embossing paste and sprinkled it with some glitter.

It still wasn't quite snowy enough so I cut it out two more times in white and layered with a slight offset so the white peeked out.

I put my Snowy Merry Christmas in an evergreen forest using the Evergreen Trio die and a variety of green cardstock that I glittered heavily.  I thought it needed a few snowflakes and I decided to use the Snowflake Tall Curve Border.  I like the look of it framing my forest scene just on one side.

The colors of this card are traditional but this could work in frosty blues or purples and lavenders.  Or you could go very elegant and use white trees and a golden Merry Christmas.  Or maybe cut the trees in fun plaids!  There are so many options with just a few basic dies!

I like your style, Kim! The card is simple and festive and has that real cold weather Christmas feel 😊

Beautiful elegant card! You used all the elements well for a deceptively simple but very elegant looking card. TFS

Hi Kim, Love it, love it, love it !! This is such an elegant card, and I adore the snow covered wording.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Love how you layered the trees and brought them right in with the sentiment, looks great offset like that!

Lovely design!
