Maple Symphony

Happy Monday crafters! Sue here with my first autumn card of the season. We’ve had a hot summer in my area and now I’m grateful for the cooler weather. With the cooler weather comes the changing of the leaves, which are so pretty!

I started by taking white cardstock and applying Distress Inks in shades of blue. Then I heavily sprayed the panel with Perfect Pearls I mixed with water. I did not use my fine mister for this because I wanted to create texture on the background with a larger mix of droplets. Love the pearly shine!

I took this panel and ran it through my die cut machine with the Maple Symphony die which die cuts the maple leaves and the swirly lines. I put aside these leaves for a future project and adhered the panel onto the white card base.

I die cut the Maple Leaf Symphony once from white cardstock and once from black cardstock. The black leaves were inlaid onto the panel. The white leaves were inked up with more Distress Inks and when I adhered them down onto the panel I offset them a little bit so the black inlaid leaf below would show a little bit to give a shadow.

The sentiment is white heat embossed on black card stock and I added a black Double Stitch Rectangle Frame to finish off the card along with a sprinkling of gold gems.

Sue, this is a beautiful card. As the background changes and the swirling especially, you really get the feeling of movement. I like the splatter too and the color on the leaves is really nice. Thank you so much for sharing.
