Holly Merry Christams
by Candice Crawford
Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all having a good week. I am coming on the blog today to share with you a holiday card using the new Holly Merry Christmas and Holly Background dies from our latest release.
To get started on today's card, you will need to first die cut your card front panel from a piece of white card stock. I am using the Stitched Rectangle Trimmings die set from Memory Box.
Next, cut the Holly Background from a 4.5 x 5.5 inch piece of white card stock. Be sure to remove all of the white die cut pieces so that your are left with just the frame.
Now die cut the Holly Background die again three more times from a dark green, light green and red card stock. Save only the Holly leaves from the dark green card stock, the berries from the red card stock, and only the greenery from the light green card stock.
Next, adhere your white holly background outline to a white card base with your adhesive of choice. I find spray adhesive works well for intricate die cuts such as this one. Now adhere the white stitched rectangle frame with some liquid adhesive. Now begin paper piecing the dark green, light green and red die cut holly pieces onto the card front in the proper spaces of the holly frame background.
Continue adhering the die cut pieces onto the holly background until the background is complete. I find using a Krystal Katana pick-up tool is great to use when doing paper piecing.
Next, die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment three times from white, red and green card stock. Adhere the red sentiment frame to a 2.5 x 5.5 inch piece of vellum card stock. Paper piece the white die cut letters from the word Merry into the red sentiment frame. Lastly add the green holly pieces.
To finish the card, add the vellum sentiment strip to the center of your card front with some liquid adhesive. The end result of this paper pieces Christmas card is so stunning.
I hope your enjoyed today's card tutorial and found some inspiration. Until next time...happy crafting!
