Hello Friends!

Thank you so much for dropping by the Poppystamps blog today! I have got something a little new and different for me, a stamped and watercolored image using the pretty Peony Garden Corner from Memory Box Open Studio. I just LOVE using die cuts on everything, and making paper art! But when I opened my Design Team package from our Poppystamps guru, Dave, I just wanted to try this technique. Even though I didn't exactly get the results I hoped for, I loved doing it! I am also going to keep on practicing too, which is what I tell every person who tells me they just can't make their projects "look just right." Take a look.

I started out by cutting the Wrapped Stitch Rectangle out of Memory Box Open Studio Watercolor Paper. I love the wonky edges.

I stamped the images from the Peony Garden Corner on the watercolor paper, aligning things just the way I wanted with my MISTI. Once the ink was dry, I painted the peonies with some inexpensive watercolor paint.

I was going for a messy, artistic look, where some of the color bleeds out of the images. I don't think I went nearly "messy" enough! I then added a few colorful paint splatters with my paintbrush too. I used a lot of water first, then added drops of paint, then added more paint once the layers and colors were dry. So my finished peonies now have a really chalky and thick look and feel to them. What will you create with this beautiful Peony Garden Corner set?

Hi Michele, I love it !! I love the wrapped stitch rectangles die set, I do love the wonky nature of the stitches, and the peony garden stamping and colouring looks so so pretty. I am definitely going to be trying the watercolouring technique next.
Stay safe, stay well.
Lots of love from Patricia xxc
