Hello!  Jennifer here today with a challenge reminder!  It's a heatwave challenge this month at Poppystamps, and it's also your chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the store! Still plenty of time this month to create and enter, and entering is easy! You have until 12 am US EST on August 29 to link up your design.  We'll start a new challenge and announce the winners on September 1.

Simply click on the "Challenge" link here, above, or the icon to the right, and that will take you to a page where you will scroll to the bottom of this month's reminders.  From there, you'll see some entry photos and a link.  Click that link to enter, and you will be able to upload your photo.  Upload an image of your card that shares something to do with a heatwave; whether that is heat embossing, a summer scene, or just hot colors like I did below.  Don't forget to use at least one item from Poppystamps (stamp or die)!

For my card, I used the smaller of the Rounded Blooms to create a bloom on top of a larger matching bloom from the Echo Blossoms (nested die set).  It is so much fun to have a bloom to match the nested dies.  Lots of possibilities, and many different looks can be created with these two die sets.

For the background, I cut strips of a palette that reminded me of hot summer colors, and glued them onto a lightweight piece of paper.  Once glued down, I die cut the larger bloom out of this. Next, I embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I repeated this process several times to create a very thick, glossy surface. This way, it looks almost like a medallion sitting on the card with a white blossom on top.

The stripes also created the background for the white piece to be glued onto.  This way, the colorful border ties in beautifully with the flower.

I hope you have a great day, and we can't wait to see your creations!
