Washi Leafy Garden Border
by Sue McRae
Happy Monday crafters! Today I’m using some of Poppystamps wide washi tape for my card design.
I started by taking some of the Cornelia Variegated Wide Washi Tape (this washi tape is available in 3 colours and two widths) and adhering it to white cardstock for die cutting.
I die cut the Leafy Garden Border from this and also from a piece of purple card stock.I wanted a shadow effect behind the washi layer so that it popped more from the background. I did this by gluing the washi piece slightly offset from the purple layer.
To continue with the purple theme, I die cut the Luscious Script Wishes from watercolour paper and applied a wash of Distress Ink in Wilted Violet, leaving the bottom of the die cut dark and lightening it as I worked up the die cut. Very quick and easy to do!
The birthday sentiment was white heat embossed on black cardstock and I die cut the butterfly from the Memory Box Twinkling Jewel Glitter Pad.
This was a quick card to put together thanks to the washi tape and am using it more and more in my card making, especially when I need a last minute card.
Thanks for visiting with me today and happy crafting!
