July challenge reminder: Glim and Glam
by Tina Wilstrup
Hello everyone, Tina here today with a reminder to enter the July Glim and Glam challenge. The rules are simple, you just need to use a die or stamp from Poppystamps and create something that is crafty and sparkly. Plus, if you enter you could win a gift card to the Poppystamps store!!
Today I have made a spinner card. I first cut a piece of cardstock to 5.5"x8.5" and scored and folded one end at 1"5/8 and the other end at 2"5/8. I also added the gourgeous wide washi tape to an A2 panel.
I then ahdered the washi tape panel to the large flap of the base. I cut off the overhanging part with my trimmer and adhered that to the other flap.
I cut the Summer blossoms sidekick frame from white cardstock and teal glitter paper. I also the Graceful Faerie from white cardstock twice, as well as 2 sets of wings and 2 partial cuts of the farie (one mirrored) from the glitter paper.
I fuzzycut the partial cuts to fit as a dress and adhered to the body of the faerie. On the back of one faerie I placed a thin silver thread. I would have used clear, but I didn't have any. I then glued the wings together so I had 2 double sided wings. Since the wings were now going to add quite a bit of bulk, I adhered 2 itty bitty pieces of cardstock to the back of one faerie (on top of the silver thread), and glued the 2 faeries together with the wings set in between.
Since the space in the frame is limited I let the silver thread continue to one of the flowers in the frame. Be heavy with your adhesive. You want to make sure the thread doesn't move. Also, make sure you check that you spinner can actualy spin. I had to adjust the wings, since the wings hit the frame. I then adhered the glitter cardstock frame on top, and adhered the left side of it to the smaller flap of the base.
I didn't want to disturb the front with my sentiment, so I added it inside the card.
All done. Before you place the card in the envelope, make sure you twist the faerie/spinner element. When your recipient opens the card, the tiny faerie will spin and spread all that sparkle.
Now it's your turn. For all the details on the challenge and how you can win a gift certificate to the Poppystamps store click HERE! I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge!

Hi Tina, I love this !! The faerie looks stunning, and I absolutely adore the summer blossoms sidekick frame, and the extra wide washi is fantastic. A really beautiful card.
Stay safe, stay well.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
