A Cup For Kitty
by Michele K. Henderson
Hello Crafty Friends!
I am so glad that you have dropped by the Poppystamps blog, because I have a super sweet card to share with you today! This little kitty, like my own kitties at home, is taking a peek to see if there's anything left in the cup for him. Awwww. I'm really happy with the way this card turned out, and with some new elements that I've used in this card as well. Let's take a look.
I started out with the Fun Floral Sidekick Frame, using the frame and the flower elements included with it, all cut in bright summery colored cardstock.
After I cut the frame in a bright shade of green, I set that aside for a minute to create the background panel, using the beautiful Sunset Blush Wide Washi Tape from Memory Box. I measured and pre-cut my background piece out of bright white cardstock, then taped and smoothed the washi tape over the top, then trimmed off the edges. This piece was so pretty just as a little card!
I adhered the frame onto the cardstock panel, added the Classic Coffee Cup with a foam pop dot, added my little grey Whittle Jumping Kitty, then cut a pile of petals and leaves from the Fun Floral Sidekick Frame and Stencil. I also cut a few leaves from Garden Leaves and Berries, and the tiny bird from the Greenhouse Potted Plants Sidekick Frame and Stencil. I had quite a pile of elements and die cuts to choose from!
I ended up selecting the three petal blooms, which remind me of water lilies, or tulips, or fuchsia drops, or whatever fun and artsy flowers you can imagine! I added them all to my card using tiny pieces of adhesive foam to make them pop off the page.
I finished the design with a few sequins and voila! A cup for kitty!
Thanks so much for joining us today, and keep on crafting!
