A Spring Shower
by Michele K. Henderson
We are thrilled that you have dropped by today to see more beautiful inspiration and projects from our design team using the amazing Rinea Foil!
All week long, we are creating and sharing unique 3D cards made with Rinea foil paper and Poppystamps dies. I love the way the Rinea foil molds and shapes right in your hands! You can manipulate delicate pieces just by gently shaping and curling in the direction you want them go, as I did with the leaves of this gorgeous 3D Hyacinth stem. Take a look!
I used the brand new Poppystamps Grand Watering Can, and cut out three different cans in grey, blue, and purple cardstock. Then I inked each can with Distress Oxide ink, then added a few drops of water and waited for the reaction. Each can looks great, but to my surprise, the grey on grey can reacted with the water by creating these soft pink spots on the can, an effect that reminded me of oils rubbed into an old metal can.
When I first saw all the options available on the Rinea website, I immediately fell in love with the 3D Hyacinth die set, and knew it would look beautiful with the Poppystamps Grand Watering Can. It turned out to be a winning combination! I cut the 3D Hyancith out of the Rinea Peacock Variety Pack, and followed the easy breezy directions on curling and shaping the leaves and petals.
Once my Hyacinth was completed, I double stacked round foam pop dots to elevate the can high enough off the card base so it looks as if the stem is inside the watering can, and mounted it all against my Distress Oxide ink background. What a beautiful fit!
I can't wait to create more beautiful projects using Rinea foil and Poppystamps dies! We'd love to see what you'll create too! Why not give Rinea a try and share your projects in our Poppystamps Challenge this month?
Thanks so much for joining us today!
