Love and Sunshine
by Michele K. Henderson
Hello Crafty Friends!
There are so many things to love about the latest release from Poppystamps, especially these tiny hearts! Every designer is creating beautiful projects that feature rows and rows of tiny hearts, in a wide range of colors. Today I am sharing a few cards I made with alcohol inks and YUPO paper in bright sunshine colors. Take a look!
I love the look of bright, crisp white paper and the marbled jewel look of alcohol ink on YUPO! I started out by pulling out my box of scrap alcohol ink papers I had left over from other projects. When I saw this scrap of bright sunshine yellows and rich coffee browns, I wanted to give them a try. It's not your traditional red and pink palette you see around Valentine's Day, but I thought it would look fresh and cheerful.
I cut the Banded Hearts in white, then used the die again to cut all my bright scraps into a pile of tiny colorful hearts.
Once the Banded Hearts cut was adhered to my card base, I then carefully glued all the tiny hearts in place using glue and craft tweezers.
Not only does it look unique, but the smooth texture of the YUPO feels so fun!
I finished the card with the Love Outline, cut in crisp white and rich browns.
I had enough little hearts left over to make a second card, using more blues and purples. For the second card, I used the Grid Heart Frame, which gives my card a different look. Which color palette do you prefer?
Now I've got TWO cards ready to mail to two very special people!
I third count, I realized I had enough for one more card! take a look!
This card has a completely different look to it! Instead of trimming the card base to a tight fit, I left it long, and added a sweet sentiment from the Memory Box Valentine's Fun Clear Stamp Set. I'm going to use this large size card as a letter to my good friend, who truly is the very best!
Thanks so much for joining us today!
