Valentine's blog blitz - Love & Hugs by Tina Wilstrup

Happy new year, Poppy fans! We are continuing our valentine's blog blitz and I'm sharing 2 cards today showcasing the beautiful Grid heart frame die. Although the Danish flourists have long adapted the valentine's tradition, I myself have not. So instead I made cards of love and hugs.

For the first card I ink blended a background with pink oxide inks and cut the frame 4 times from white cardstock. I layered the frames and glued them on top of the pink base.

I cut and colored the Whittle panda. To avoid getting my black marker all over the panda I placed a piece of cardstock behind the eye.

I cut the envelope, heart tag and love outline letters from white cardstock - the shadow from black cardstock. I ink blended the tag and also the little cut out heart. I stamped the sentiments and tugged the panda into the envelope so it looks like he's holding the tag.

Both the envelope and love outline are popped up with craft foam and the panda itself is popped up as well. I ran over the tiny heart...

... as well as the letters with a clear sparkle pen and then glossy accents for a shiny dimensional look. Isn't it pretty!?

For a final touch I added some clear sequins.

The other card is all about hedge-hugs. Here I also ink blended the base with oxide inks but this time I threw in a little purple as well.

I cut and colored the Whittle hedgehog. Once again I stuck a piece of cardstock behind the ear to ensure not getting my light and dark colors mixed.

I left the hugs heart white but popped it up and backed it with a piece of cardstock inked with the same color as the base.

Although the light makes it a little hard to see the Grid heart frame is heat embossed with a pretty soft pink and sparkly embossing powder. Sooo gorgeous!
