Magic In The Night by Jeanne Jachna

Hi friends! It's Jeanne here today and I'm sharing a sparkly Halloween card. Halloween really is my favorite holiday. As a child there was no other night that was as magical and mysterious! I got to roam the neighborhood in disguise... AT NIGHT!!! and get treats from every house I visited! Now that I'm grown it still captures my imagination! The neighborhood comes alive and I love seeing the kids dressed as superheros, storm troopers, princesses and more.

My card captures a visit to the pumpkin patch on a chill night.. the sky is dark (and sparkly with stars).. .. did you hear that? Are the spirits haunting or is it just a black cat hunting field mice in the night?

This card starts with the Pumpkin Patch Sidekick Fame cut from white cardstock. I colored the pumpkins and vines with Copic markers. You can use any brand you like.. the reason I favor Copics is because I color ALOT. Copic markers are easy to refill so I never have to buy a new marker.

I wanted LOTS of CONTRAST so I decided to layer the colored die cut over a panel of ombre blue distress ink. Orange and blue are opposite each other on the color wheel making them COMPLIMENTARY. This means that together they have the strongest contrast. The panel is inked in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink. It's splattered with water to add some depth. Next I adhered double sided adhesive to the distress panel and topped it with the colored Pumpkin Patch Sidekick Frame.

I stamped the sentiment from the Pumpkin Patch Clear Stamp Set on the panel and inserted it into the frame. A sprinkle of clear crystal fine glitter pressed into the remaining exposed adhesive adds lots of sparkle and shine!

The Pumpkin Patch Sidekick Frame also includes a few extra pumpkin die cuts. I colored a few and adhered them with adhesive foam tape over the pumpkins on the frame. A Whittle Ghost and Black Whittle Cat make this scene more fun!
