Colorful Leaf Tag
by Jeanne Jachna
Hi friends! It's Jeanne here today! I'm always looking for little ways to make the everyday ordinary something special. As the weather turns cooler, my mind is turning to baking. I've stocked up on pecans and walnuts so let the baking begin. My favorite way to dress up a home baked gift for my folks or the neighbors is with a pretty tag!
This tag is packed with colorful leaves and a simple sweet "thank you" in gold glitter paper. Here's how I made it!
Last vacation I brought a stack of watercolor paper and some paints with me. I made lots of colorful panels that have been waiting to be used. I cut panels of pink, green, orange, yellow and purple with the new Autumn Leaf and Maple Trio craft dies.
I thought the color was a little flat when I was done (See above) so I added distress ink to the edges of the die cuts. This really made them pop and added some depth to the color.
Now to assemble the tag. I cut the Double Stitch Tag from white card stock. Next I cut the Doodle Thank you from white card stock. I trimmed it to fit the width of the tag, and then cut a slightly larger panel of gold glitter paper. I stacked the two panels so the gold glitter paper peeks through the die cut window opening. I adhered the sentiment panel to the tag with adhesive foam tape so it pops up. All the colorful leaves are tucked under the raised sentiment. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of gold jewels and some gold twine.
I can't wait to start baking and dress up the packages. They'll be beautiful on the outside, and yummy on the inside!
