Love Lives On
by Donna Peachey
I'm combining die and stamp sets today with a mix of selective inking and colour techniques.
Here's a 'how to' guide... just in case you want to have a go, too!
Start by inking up the Whittle Birds as shown. (I used Finger Daubers for this).
Using the stencil that comes with the Garden Poppy Sidekick Frame, add red splodges of watercolour as shown. I've used my Gansai Tambi watercolour set to add a lighter shade first, then (once dry) gone back in with a darker colour.
Then add the green. Three colour tones this time - again lightest first.
Once completely dry, cut out a second Garden Poppy Sidekick Frame and glue it from behind to add a little definition to the finished design...
... and then add some random stitching as shown.
Cut and add a length of thread to the Deco Shining Heart.
Then stamp the sentiment. (I've added one layer of scrap card glued from behind for this one).
Stamp and cut out three leaves from the Little Kindness clear stamp set and put those to one side for the moment.
Using the frame as a template, draw around the inner rectangle on to the base layer of your card and then mask it off so that you can add distress inks as shown.
I've added water droplets between my layers of ink drying to build up pattern and strength of colour, and once happy one final ink daubed darkest spot was also added. (This dark spot will peek out from the Deco Shining Heart).
One final stage to do before assembling the card... Add black watercolour splatters as shown!
Wrap the thread around the top of the frame before gluing in to position, then assemble the rest as shown.
Note... you may want to add some extra layers to your Whittle Birds as I have. Two behind the smaller bird and three full (plus two top half only) for the bigger bird.
(As the bigger bird rests on the propped up sentiment you'll need those two half layers to keep everything looking straight)!
This is such a beautiful sentiment, don't you agree?
Have a fabulous day.
