Easter Chicks
by Jeanne Jachna
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! Today I'm sharing a fun Easter card made with the Poppystamps Easter Chicks stamp set with coordinating dies.
I know we all love Poppystamps dies , but I thought it would be fun to break out the stamps today. I find coloring very therapeutic. It's easy to get lost while staying inside the lines! :P
I stamped the images from Easter Chicks on white card stock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I colored the images with Copic Markers. You can use any markers you like. If you're committed to crafting I'd invest in the Copics because over your lifetime they are a great investment. You can refill the makers when they run dry, and a refill bottle will recharge the markers many times. In the long run this is much cheaper than purchasing another set of markers just because you need only a few colors.
When the images are colored I tape the coordinating die over the image and then run it through my die cut machine for a clean cut every time. A bit of tape holds the die in place while running it through your machine.
The background was created with distress ink. This is another cost saver if you have room in your craft area, or you dont want to invest in colored card stock. By inking white card stock you can make it any color you like. This panel is inked with Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron. The sentiment is stamped on the colored panel AFTER it is inked to prevent smearing.
I had lots of fun creating this card and am delighted with how it turned out. I know it's going to make someone really happy!

Hi Jeanne, I love the colouring, I love the cute patterns on the Easter eggs, and the chicks are so cute, I love your background to this too. I adore your colouring with Copics (I wish that I could afford those, as the colouring I have seen with them always looks gorgeous).
Lots of love from Patricia xx
