You are Loved
by Robin Tharaldson

YOY Are Loved March Full WITH

The 2019 Spring Release from Poppystamps is in full swing and I hope you have had the opportunity to check out all the new stamps and dies! NO?...well head on over to Poppystamps and see for yourself!  My card features products from the Spring Release along with a craft die from Birch Press Design that created my embossed background panel!

YOU Are Loved March CU3 WITH

I know I have mentioned a few times now, but I am in love with the Luscious Script words from this release; there is no end to creating with them! The bold words paired with heartfelt sentiments make for quick and easy projects! The sentiment, for this card, came from the Picnic Plaid stamp set which includes a LARGE background stamp, bold word stamps and many other sentiments!!

YOU Are Loved March CU2 WITH

And, I think the Spring Pots Frame lends itself to so many possibilities...thinking shaker, maybe! Anyway, watch my video to see how to emboss with a die; it's super easy and gives your dies an extended use!

Thanks for stopping by...

Happy Easter
by Donna Peachey

EZy Watermark_02-03-2019_18-24-50-2

With Easter on its way, I thought it might be nice to make something other than a card.

So today's design is something a little more 'fun' based in terms of design that's hopefully suitable as a small gift...  perhaps for a teacher or teachers aide?

To start with, you'll need a suitably sized notebook...

Some of you may well recognise this base layer design as I have used it once before!

Cut a piece of card to size (4.25 x 5.5"), add the Pinpoint Hearts as shown and then add the splatter of colour using a syringe and liquid watercolour.

Next comes the Bubble Spiral...

Followed by this partially cut Stitchwork Circle Frame.

To finish the base, cut approx 1/4 inch off the bottom and a little less from the left hand side.

Glue the base on to a piece of silver mirror card that measures 4.25 x 5.5"...

...  and add this Pierced Border to the left hand side.

(Here's another photo of the finished design to explain what I mean and save you scrolling back up to the top)!

To decorate, you'll need these...

...  and these!

I've cut the Peek A Boo Bunny three times and the word Easter twice before gluing the layers together.  Everything else has just been cut the once.

FullSizeRender 2

I also decided I would need an extra heart, so I've included the Heart Trio Showcase photo to show which of the smaller sizes I used.

Once everything is glued in to place, you may want to add a layer or two of spray varnish to add a little protection and durability to the front cover before attaching it to the notebook.

I hope this fun design has inspired you to have a go.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...

Folk Art Easter
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Friends!

This little Peek a Boo bunny is rolling ALL the eggs your way in this Easter card with the folksy feel! I used bright colors against a black background, inspired by some of my favorite Old World folk art. Take a look!

By using a few layered pieces, you can create a colorful, intricate background that pairs with the detailed Folk Decorated Eggs perfectly. Working from the top down, lay the Double Stitch Square Frame face down, then the piece with the Pierced Finnegan Circle on top, and the background color square on top. Glue them all together and adhere it to your card base.

Your layered stack does not need to be pretty or perfect, as long as it all fits together with no layers peeking through.

To give the card a little dimension, I added tiny bits of pop dots to the Peek a Boo Bunny and the eggs, and arranged them on the card. Adorable!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

Hippity Hoppity
by Jeanne Jachna

I enjoy making cards depicting scenes with die cuts, but it's not always easy to find images that are proportioned to work together.  I'm loving the new "whittle" series of dies because they are perfectly sized and coordinated with cute stitched detail so they're ready to play together.
I started this card with a simple distress ink background.  I used a piece of scrap paper to create a mask inking the sky with one half of the mask, and the grassy foreground with the other.   I topped the inked panel with a Double Stitch Scallop Rectangle Frame.
I set a piece of clear plastic over the panel and arranged different die cuts until I was happy with their placement.   Because the plastic is clear, the background shows through allowing me to get an idea of how the card will look when all the elements are arranged.
The Doodle Happy Easter die makes a sweet sentiment.   I filled the Whittle Basket with Whittle Eggs and topped it with a Prim and Proper Bow.
The Chick and Egg are not part of the "Whittle" series but it's part of the new Spring Release and looked sweet next to the basket.  Wouldn't it be fun if there were a little chick hiding inside ALL the eggs?   Now that would be a surprise wouldn't it?
Enjoy your day and never stop having fun!

Sending Wishes.
by Pam Simpson

Hello everyone, Pam here today! have you seen these beautiful  Stamp Designs from Poppystamp Spring Release, it measures 5.1/2"x 5.1/2"..

This is how I created this topper 4"x 5.1/2" .

1 stamping

1/ Using my stamping press and clear versamark ink..2/  cover the inked image with white opaque embossing power.

2 stamping

3/  Using self closing tweezers (You need Tweezers to hold your card! or you`ll get burnt fingers) I have sprinkled Chunky embossing powders the stamped/white embossing powder.

4/  Hold the card with the tweezers and heat from Underneath!!! this way your chunky powder does not blow of! melts into the card.

3 stamping

5/   I inked this with two blue distress inks...
6/    spray with water ..

4 die cutting

7/  I die cut together these Poppystamps Double Stitched Rectangle frames.. 8/   as they cut you will get 3 frames to use.

5 stamping

9/  These are the frames I am using around my stamped butterflies.  10/  Distress ink to ad shading to each butterfly.

My topper ready for the card..Wish you could see all the sparkly texture with these chunky powders.. can you see how I used the frames.

Main card size 5.1/2"x 7.1/2"  ...mats are smaller blue has been coloured with distress ink and white mat.. wrap ribbon around this and adhere to the main card.

Luscious Script "Sending" cut from of cut of butterflies, placed onto a black shadow. stamped "Wishes" from the same stamp collection.

Poppystamp Hampstead Butterfly Stem for leaf decoration and tiny butterflies..Ribbon and gems to finish.

Hope this shows you, just because my stamp was square, you can use to suit whatever card you wish.

Thank you for stopping by and any comment you care to leave me Pam x.

Lantern Shaker Card
by Olga Direktorenko

Hi crafty people,

It's been a while since I last made a shaker card and I nearly forgot how much fun it is! This one has a shaped shaker window - a lantern with a bulb inside!

This project is quite simple but there are some little tips and tricks that I would like to share. Please find below a video tutorial and of course, some close up pictures of a card!

Miss You
by Donna Peachey

EZy Watermark_23-02-2019_15-06-42-2-2

Have you seen the challenge on the Poppystamps blog for this month?  It's 'Spring Cleaning' time!

So if you have something old you could use hiding away in your stash, perhaps you would like to join us?

...  Or perhaps you prefer to make something Clean And Simple?

Either way, there is still time to play!

You have until 12am on March 28th, US EST to join in...  and a random winner does get a prize!

I've opted for a CAS card using one of Poppystamps older dies that IS still in stock...  the Powell Butterfly.

Want to know how this was made?

I've cut the Powell Butterfly from stamping card and simply used an ink dauber to add these two colours as symmetrically as I can.

Snapseed 2

Then I've created the smallest of ink splatters using this Twinkling H20 teal colour.  (For those of you unfamiliar with Twinkling H20's, they are a watercolour with added mica).

Once dry, I've simply stamped and heat embossed 'Miss You' from the new 'You Are Wonderful' Art Deco clear stamp set...

...  and I've added this Whittle Wood Frame using two layers glued together for added dimension.

To finish, I've simply attached the butterfly from the centre, and once completely dry and secure...  added a touch more sparkle over the butterfly ink using a 'Clear Overlay'  pen by Spectrum Noir.

The beauty of a CAS card is that it never takes too long to make...

Thank you so much for stopping by today. x
