Hippity Hoppity
by Jeanne Jachna
I enjoy making cards depicting scenes with die cuts, but it's not always easy to find images that are proportioned to work together. I'm loving the new "whittle" series of dies because they are perfectly sized and coordinated with cute stitched detail so they're ready to play together.
I started this card with a simple distress ink background. I used a piece of scrap paper to create a mask inking the sky with one half of the mask, and the grassy foreground with the other. I topped the inked panel with a Double Stitch Scallop Rectangle Frame.
I set a piece of clear plastic over the panel and arranged different die cuts until I was happy with their placement. Because the plastic is clear, the background shows through allowing me to get an idea of how the card will look when all the elements are arranged.
The Doodle Happy Easter die makes a sweet sentiment. I filled the Whittle Basket with Whittle Eggs and topped it with a Prim and Proper Bow.
The Chick and Egg are not part of the "Whittle" series but it's part of the new Spring Release and looked sweet next to the basket. Wouldn't it be fun if there were a little chick hiding inside ALL the eggs? Now that would be a surprise wouldn't it?
Enjoy your day and never stop having fun!

Your little scene just makes me SMILE, Jeanne!!! ;)
So fstive and cheery!
Hi Jeanne, A really lovely and cute Easter card, I especially love the rectangle frame, the inky background is lovely, and the Whittle animals are so cute, and the little chick looks so 'happy' to be out of the shell, she looks like she is saying "hip, hip, hooray" haha. I adore 'scene' cards, and I'm really loving your technique with the clear plastic sheet to arrange your die-cuts before committing yourself.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Great card with lots of happy movement.
So cute!
