Sprinkled With Love
by Donna Peachey
If you know someone who likes the occasional sweet treat, perhaps this quick and easy make is for you!
Here's a quick 'how to' guide...
Start by creating the background using the smaller of the two dies in the Deco Victor Square set.
You'll be using the die cut as a stencil. I've used temporary spray adhesive to hold my dies in place whilst I add the Distress Oxide ink.
As you can see, I've also added water splashes and dried them off before removing the die cuts.
Next, cut out the dies you will need and glue them together.
I've chosen the 'Sprinkled With Love' sentiment from the cute Donut What I'd Do set, stamped it on Heat Resistant acetate and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.
(Don't forget to use your anti static pad or it's equivalent first).
As my Heat Resistant acetate is quite flimsy I decided that a second layer from scrap packaging was needed. Here's a photo that shows what that looks like...
Before gluing everything into position the acetate needs to be cut to size... which means folding and securing one end over the donuts.
As you can see, I've used a small staple to attach the two layers, then secured it in place with a piece of red liner tape.
I've also cut out an extra donut shape from scrap packaging, trimmed it down and attached that as shown to offset the height of the staple.
The donut hole came in handy, too! I added an extra layer after this photo was taken and a small piece of red liner tape right along the bottom edge of the cupcake.
Here's the finished card again... with the length of the acetate strip adjusted. That small piece of red liner tape under the Whittle Cupcake stops it from escaping!
Hope you've enjoyed seeing my fun make!
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
