Happy Halloween
by Nancy Penir

Happy Halloween Poppy Peeps! Nancy here, and I'm bringing Halloween greetings to you on the last day of October.

That's right, it's holiday rush beginning tomorrow. So for today, what's better than one Halloween pumpkin? 3 Halloween pumpkins!

I began by giving 2 A2 sized watercolor cardstock a wash with purple and lime green. Nothing fancy here. Just wet the cardstock and apply color. If you want to speed drying time up a bit, use your heat gun.

When dry, I marked the half way point of my cardstock, and cut my pumpkin window once. I knew I was going to have a trio of pumpkin windows on my card front. Measuring first saves a lot of grief!

I die cut the image again in the top left corner, and a third time on the bottom right corner. Then watercolored the pumpkin orange. Watercoloring takes a bit of time, applying paint, letting it dry, and going over those spots you want darker.

I covered my pumpkins before adding the splatters of paint to the card, then when dry, foam taped the top card for dimension.

Here's a closeup of how I watercolored one of the pumpkins

Notice how I followed the stitching lines of the pumpkin, and applied my color darker on the lines and on the bottom.

I glossy A-ed the center pumpkin and added a stem (product listed below).

Too late to give this card away, but it'll keep till next year!

Have a Happy safe Halloween!

A Whittle Halloween Treat
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Everyone!

We are so glad you could join us today! Halloween is right around the corner, so today I am sharing with you a super simple easy breezy last-minute Halloween card that is all treat, and no trick!

I originally planned on making three matching little treat tags, but I decided at the last minute to put them all together in a cheerful little candy parade! I used the Whittle Candy Corn, the Whittle Ghosts, and the Whittle Pumpkins! I can't get over how cute these faces are too!

This CAS card is easy to make too! Simply cut out the little Whittle Candy Corn, Ghosts, and Pumpkins in yellow, white, and orange, and then cut a second set in light grey. Cut out tiny little squares in yellow and black, and glue them to the back of your tiny pumpkins and ghosts. This will make them come alive! Then glue the colored cut to the grey cut to create a little shadow and make them pop just a touch. These characters are too cute to spook!

We are so glad you dropped by today to share a little last minute Halloween inspiration!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Porch
by Jeanne Jachna

You're here so I know you love to craft.  Sometimes I'm not feeling so inspired.  When that happens I usually tell myself it's time to take a break.   There are other times when everything I see makes me want to get crafty.
Fusion Oct 25-001 Fall Porch
I think it's important to support the craft community whether it's buying from small business owners or playing along with challenges I find on line.  It's a great way to find inspiration, see what other people are making and maybe find a few friends too.  I love the photo at Fusion Card Challenge this time and found myself recreating the fall porch scene with die cuts.
The background really defines the look of the porch. I die cut a panel of  light blue card stock with the Leafy Wreath Collage.   To replicate the look of the siding on the wall I scored lines across the panel every 1/4".  I attached some packing tape to the back of the panel and inserted colorful cardstock leaves inside the sticky openings in the front for a smooth finish.  I inked the edges of the panel to help define the lines in the panel and create shadow.
The wood flooring was created using the Seaside Dock die.  I attached several die cut panels together on their reverse side, brushed them with distress ink and then cut the panel to fit my card front.
I added loads of dies (you can find a complete list below).  The Happy Halloween Signs create my sentiment.

Dark Stitched Batty Collage bats swoop around the Garden Lantern light.

Whittle Ghosts with rosy cheeks are moaning in the wind and  of course there's a Harvest Pumpkin embellished with Stitched Pumpkin Leaves on the porch too.

A Formal Candle die cut is placed inside the Garden Lantern with Circle Basics die cuts providing a glow.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope my card inspires you to make too!

Fall Leaves
by Robin Tharaldson

Oct 26 Full With

There is a "hint" of Fall in the air here in SoCal!!!  Last week it was in the 90's, so who knows what is coming next, temperature wise!!  My project was inspired by a video from Sheri Carroll, she used her acrylic block as a "smusher" and applied watercolors to her paper.  I used the same technique to create my Fall leaves for my Grateful card along with products from Poppystamps Holiday Happenings Release! Click HERE to see the entire release!

Oct 26 CU1 No

I used Whittle Oak and Whittle Maple Leaf dies for my card; I just love all the detail in these die cuts!

Oct 26 CU3 With

The Triple Stitch Window die is the perfect frame for my Fall leaves. I popped up the leaf panel using foam tape for a bit of dimension!

Oct 26 CU2 With

My sentiment is from the Deco Frames and Phrases stamp set; just a perfect font for so many occasions!!  Be sure to watch my video to see how I created my Fall leaves!!

Thanks for stopping by...

Magic Pumpkin
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Everyone!

Have you seen this month's October challenge? It's Falling Leaves and Scary Things, and we love the spooky creations coming our way for this scary challenge! You've got all month to show us your spookiest creation using at least one Poppystamps product, and link it up to our challenge page! What will you create?

I made a floating Magic Pumpkin to rise out of the pumpkin patch! I used alcohol ink and YUPO paper against a stamped distress ink galaxy background to create my spooky scene.

Creating a background with alcohol ink on YUPO paper is easy and fun! The best part is, it is almost impossible to screw up! That's right, no matter how you smear and blend the colors on the paper, it will look vibrant and beautiful. For the pumpkin and the moon in the Bat Ring, I stuck to oranges and yellows. The tiny leaves from Leafy Breeze were also made with alcohol and YUPO, cut from tiny scraps left over from another project. I save every little bit of my YUPO scraps too! They make beautiful leaves, feathers, tiny holiday bulbs, even stars!

Now it's your turn to create something a little bit spooky or a little bit fun! Link up your projects to our Challenge page and your project could be randomly selected as our October winner!

Thanks for joining us today! While you are here, take a look at our Poppystamps Holiday Blog Blitz, which began on October 11th. Leave a comment on every post that offers a prize you'd like to win!
