Happy Halloween
by Nancy Penir
Happy Halloween Poppy Peeps! Nancy here, and I'm bringing Halloween greetings to you on the last day of October.
That's right, it's holiday rush beginning tomorrow. So for today, what's better than one Halloween pumpkin? 3 Halloween pumpkins!
I began by giving 2 A2 sized watercolor cardstock a wash with purple and lime green. Nothing fancy here. Just wet the cardstock and apply color. If you want to speed drying time up a bit, use your heat gun.
When dry, I marked the half way point of my cardstock, and cut my pumpkin window once. I knew I was going to have a trio of pumpkin windows on my card front. Measuring first saves a lot of grief!
I die cut the image again in the top left corner, and a third time on the bottom right corner. Then watercolored the pumpkin orange. Watercoloring takes a bit of time, applying paint, letting it dry, and going over those spots you want darker.
I covered my pumpkins before adding the splatters of paint to the card, then when dry, foam taped the top card for dimension.
Here's a closeup of how I watercolored one of the pumpkins
Notice how I followed the stitching lines of the pumpkin, and applied my color darker on the lines and on the bottom.
I glossy A-ed the center pumpkin and added a stem (product listed below).
Too late to give this card away, but it'll keep till next year!
Have a Happy safe Halloween!
