Autumn Night

I love fall! It's my favorite time of year! The nights are getting colder and the leaves are changing colors. Time spent sitting around a bonfire in the yard with family and friends just talking is treasured by me. It's not unusual to see bats flying around catching mosquitoes, or hear the call of a great horned owl in the distance. Some nights under the starry sky are absolutely magical!
I created my idea of a beautiful autumn night. You know I can't resist lots of color!
I started by cutting the Birch Stitch Frame, and the second largest Double Stitch Rectangle Frame in the set from white card stock. I cut a panel to fit behind the frames and inked it up with distress oxide ink in Blueprint Sketch. I splattered it with water, and then some watered down Faded Jeans and white ink. I use foam cosmetics applicators from the local dollar store to apply the ink. They're reusable and affordable at $1 for a pack of 28. I adhered the frames to the inked panel.
I cut the largest Double Stitched Rectangle frame and adhered it to a card base. I inked the negative inside panel with Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide and splattered it with watered down Peacock Feathers. I didn't ink the entire panel because I covered up the center with the blue panel.
I die cut all the whittle images from white card stock and colored them with regular Distress ink (it's much brighter). I use cotton swabs to add details in small places and along the edges. Again these are from my local dollar store. I'm a frugal crafter! A white gel pen is great for adding accents.
I love the clean lines and the matching stitched pattern on all three frame die cuts. The stitches are repeated on the leaves and images on the design.

Hi Jeanne, I love, love, love this !! The colours are gorgeous, the background is gorgeous, and I absolutely 'adore' the Whittle Owl, she is so pretty, and I love the Whittle Squirrel, she is so cute. I adore every single element on this card !!
