Peace Poinsettias
by Jeanne Jachna

Stamped-Poinsettias-Five

Jeanne here today!  I'm playing with the new Poinsettia Delights stamp set with coordinating dies.  I enjoy coloring stamped images and find it very relaxing, but around the holidays I just don't have time to color lots of images for cards....  there's too many other fun things to do!!    This technique adds loads of color without all the extra work. Here's a look at the card I'm sharing today!

I started by stamping the images on colored paper.  I love poinsettias in all shades of reds - pink included!   I also stamped the foliage in different shades of green using colored ink on colored card stock.

The coordinating die cuts makes these easy to cut.  The window design dies make them easy to line up over the stamped images.  Just secure them in place with some removable tape - I used inexpensive washi.

Now for the fun part.. arranging the die cut flowers and leaves.  I like to use a sheet of heavy clear plastic (these were binder dividers) cut to the size of my card base.  The clear plastic allows me to pick up the arrangement and layer it over different colored backgrounds so it's easier to choose the color I like best!

To add more interest to the background I cut the Double Stitch Rectangle Frames from turquoise card stock.  I adhered them to a panel of aqua paper before adhering the die cut stamped images.

The leaves are adhered to the card base while the flowers are adhered with adhesive foam tape for dimension.

Some colorful sequins add sparkle and shine and a simple "peace" sentiment cut from white card stock completes the card.

 It's absolutely merry and bright!

I agree the holidays are such a busy time so how clever of you to create a beautiful, colourful card to brighten anyone's home! Great tips as always, thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Jeanne, I agree that colouring is quite relaxing, but we do need extra time to get it how we want it. I love this bright and beautiful card, and I also love your tip with the heavy clear plastic, I will be trying this.
