Merry and Bright
by Nancy Penir
Greetings Poppy fans! I'm up on the blog today bringing you a card with some of the new holiday dies.
Lots of steps to make my Merry and Bright card. Let's start with the shaker.
I cut my Pinpoint Shaker ornament from glitter paper, 3 times. I plan to make 3 of these cards, and to try doing the same to all of my handmade holiday cards this year. So much easier while all supplies are on hand, and when it's time to send out cards I'll have plenty ready to go.
The back of the shaker was cut from a piece of card stock treated with Magical powder. Powder is sprinkled on, and when spritzed with water, the magic happens. Perfect for the shine I was going for. I love the shimmer that pops out when it dries.
Instead of foam to build my shaker, I cut the die 4 times so that the edge would be smooth. Then I applied glue and glitter. You're going to see the side of the ornament, why not finish it with bling? Looks so 'holiday'!
Plenty of shine for the background too, with Oxide ink and Mr. Huey's Color Mist. It's a holiday card, folks. Time to shine!
Speaking of shine, let's not forget the Pine branches.
I gave my pine needles plenty of Snowflake Tinsel Embossing Powder by using my Versamark Ink Refil directly onto the needles.
Once dry, I gave some extra 'snow' by applying it again.
Here's a closeup of my 'flocking'.
Hope you're inspired to start your holiday stash. And take my word, when it's time to send them, have 3 of each will come in handy!
Hope your week's extra crafty!
