Holiday Blog Blitz! Joy to the World
by Robin Tharaldson

BlogBlitzAug3 Full NO

Can you believe it's August already?!!??? It is definitely time to start thinking about making your holiday cards and projects! AND what a better way than Poppystamps Holiday 2018 Release! Not to mention a Blog Blitz where you could be the winner of one of the NEW dies from the release!

I decided to use a #10 envelope for my cards this year! It's still first class postage but has that different look! The #10 envelopes I am using are from Paper Source and are much heavier than a standard office supply envelope.

My Joy to The World card features several of the dies from the Holiday Release! For the background of the ornaments I used the largest of the Retro Ornaments dies and then embossed them using a snowflake embossing folder.

For my JOY I used the Joy Outline die set! I cut the outline three times from white cardstock, stacked together to create more dimension and then added a single layer of the red joy! The following video will show you how to create this card!

What a CAS stunner! Love the bold red - it really makes the ornaments pop!

Another cute set. Makes me want to sing Joy To The World.

The ornaments and sentiment look perfect on this tall card!

Beautiful card, the ornaments look great with the texture and sparkle. I love the way the stacked joy sentiment really pops.

What a wonderful card. I like that you used a different size, helps make the card stand out. And I really love how you did the ornaments, I may play with that idea!

Love this card, Robin! And, of course, I LOVE the JOY die. I have many JOY dies and stamps, but am always looking for new ones.

Great card! Nice to see something other than the standard A2 card. The taller card gives so much more room for creativity. Thanks for the tip about using a brayer to smooth out the glue when you adhere a panel to the card base!

The JOY die is awesome

A really bright and joyful card! Great change of pace with the longer card, too! The die is great, too!

It's crazy how fast time flies by!! Your card is very pretty and elegant with the silver ornaments.

I like the embossing on the base of the ornament. It is subtle and nice.

This seems like it is a very versatile die. Your cards is very pretty.

Very pretty card. I really liked the way you embossed the base of the ornaments. Very nicely done!

Pretty in festive colors, love it!

Love, love, Love your tall, thin card!!! I've wanted to try some in that shape for a while now but never seem to just do it. :) The dies you used are wonderful and work perfectly on this size card!!!!

Thanks for the idea to make long cards this year. I think I will have a go at it. Your card is lovely and simple to make. Thanks for the inspiration.
