Cupcake Inspirations Challenge
by Jeanne Jachna
Do you love to play challenges? When I started papercrafting several years ago there were so many different brands and products that I wanted to try, and frankly I just couldn't afford them all. I found that one way to add products to my stash was to play along with different challenges I found on line. Most manufacturers have a monthly challenge (Yes Poppystamps does too - see the badge in the top right corner?). If you play along you could win a prize. I really enjoyed seeing the different ways people would use the products and got ideas from projects I would see linked up. Lots of them used stamps and dies that I already had in my collection.. other projects inspired me to buy something new!
This week Poppystamps is sponsoring the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge - you can find it here. That means if you play along you could win a $20 gift certificate to Poppystamps. Every week they have a new inspiration photo to inspire you! Here's what I made with this weeks inspiration...
I think any Christmas themed project would be appropriate but I was inspired by the little penguin. I was wishing I had the new Holiday Hats craft die - it would look so cute on the penguin don't you agree?
I started by cutting two of the Stitched Hills dies. I inked one with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and then die cut the Folk Merry Christmas sentiment. I layered the borders on to a panel that I inked with Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet distress ink.
I added some Evergreen trees to set the scene for the penguin ice skaters. The penguins are from the Love Note stamp set, and their winter accessories (hat and bow) are from the Be Mine Penguins set. These sets are both intended for Valentine's Day, but they're perfect for winter Christmas cards too!
Want to play along? You can get all the details here at Cupcake Inspirations. Remember if you play along you could win a $20 gift certificate to Poppystamps.
For a SECOND chance to win leave me a comment. We'll select one winner at random from the comments below to win a $20 gift certificate. You have until midnight December 17 to leave me a comment. The winner will be posted on December 19.

I really love the rolling hills here and purple is my fav colour so this card is a stunner to me!!
I really like the two shades of purple used for the sky. The penguins are just too cute and make a lovely, sweet card!
Very cute card. I like how you've incorporated various sets to make your card. It does take time to build up the stash so it helps when you can do this.
What a pretty background for your ice skating penguins. Your card is perfect for those yummy looking cupcakes. Super cute Jeanne!
