Spread a Little Kindness
by Jeanne Jachna
Jeanne here with two cards I made with the beautiful new Little Kindness Stamp set with coordinating dies. This set is fresh and fun and I couldn't wait to open it and stamp and color flowers. I like to stamp several sheets at one time, spend a few hours coloring them all, and then die cut them. This makes them easy to arrange and I always have lots left over so I can make something in a pinch later.
This is my typical process for card making. I layout designs mixing and matching elements until I'm happy. I usually leave them for a day, take another look before I commit and adhere them in place. Sometimes things change overnight.. the white card suddenly got a bright yellow distress background. Here I've laid out two different cards to make to share today! All the flowers are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Markers.
For this card I created a background of distress ink. I blended the ink on a white card stock panel leaving the outer edges dark and keeping the center of the panel light. I splashed the panel with water, and then white ink, and gold ink.
I adhered the leaves directly to the card base and popped the florals on adhesive foam tape.
Aren't those little bees the cutest? Here's my second card...
For this background I applied distress ink in the opposite manner, starting by applying the heaviest concentration of ink in the center of the design and fading out toward the edges of the cover card stock panel. Again I spritzed the ink with water, a darker shade of yellow ink, white and gold.
The NEW Pointed Circle Frames dies are perfect for shakers or simply creating a focal point for your design. I adhered one of the pretty pierced circles to the distressed background and then started adhering flowers.
The sentiments in the set are really lovely and I know you're going to get lots of use from this set making cards for all occasions.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! I hope you find time to make something beautiful!
