Stitched Easter Greetings
by Jeanne Jachna

Easter-Bunny-Four

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a great weekend!  There's lots of new Easter dies in the store and I really wanted to make one with the Easter Egg Party dies.  I wanted to show all the different dies in the set (there are 5 patterned eggs) and came up with this fun quilted  card.
Easter-Bunny-One
Don't you just love all that pretty stitching in the background?  This one was a little tricky so let me show you how it was made!  First a little measuring!  I decided to make four rows with four eggs in each row.
Easter-Bunny-Five
I cut a white card stock panel slightly smaller than that of an A2 size card - 4" x 5 1/4".  Next I divided the panel into squares.  You can see where I scored the rows.   The scoring was really helpful in aligning the dies for the stitches.  I could easily see where to place the border dies (I used two different dies from the Delicate Stitches Set.    I have a magnetic plate on my cutting machine that held the dies in place nicely.

When the border dies were complete I added the Happy Easter Curve die and trimmed off the excess so the edges were even with the card panel.
Easter-Bunny-Seven
I wanted to point out that I lost a tiny bit of paper where the two sets of stitches cut over each other.    Mistakes happen and to me quite often!! LOL!!   No worries - you can cover up any imperfections with embellishments like gems or sequins.  I covered this up with a little bunny and I don't think anyone would notice if I didn't share it!
Easter-Bunny-Three
I double cut all the eggs - once from gold foil and once from colored card stock.   I actually inlaid all the eggs.  If this isn't "you're thing" you can use the Stitched Egg Medley dies to place behind the die cut eggs in the Easter Egg Party.  I don't mind paper piecing - it's a labor of love and I really like how it looks when they're all done - nice and smooth!
Easter-Bunny-Two
I put a small piece of washi on the back of the die cut and then inserted the pieces - that little bit of washi held each piece in place.  When I adhered them on the card with liquid glue they were completely secure.
Easter-Bunny-Four
Here's where my little "boo boo" was.. before you saw it.. now you don't.  That little rabbit from Bunny Hop looks like he was meant to be there doesn't he? You can see from the sprinkle of sequins that it would be easy to hide other mistakes.
Easter-Bunny-Eight
Isn't all that gold just yummy?

I love the quilted look of the design... AND I got all the different eggs on to one card!  LOL!! What will you make today???

Hi Jeanne, This card is really beautiful, and I agree that the gold detail is yummy !! I love how you have done the squares with the delicate stitches, which look so effective. I love the paper piecing within the eggs, and the lovely bunny doing the 'hop' over the lovely eggs. Beautiful !!
Enjoy your day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

So cute!

I totally love this idea, and oh so cute, great job with covering the boo boo, it looks like it belongs there for sure :)
