Happy Birthday
by Jinny Newlin
Morning, y'all! It's Jinny here today; and I'm so excited to be back, sharing a project, showcasing more of what our January 2017 Release has to offer! This one made it to my brother-in-law, for his birthday, late last week. Enjoy!
I started this card by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper in various shades of green. I then speckled it with those same watercolors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, before using the Happy Birthday Tag craft die to remove its center. I then went back and filled in a portion of that center with a separate, Basic Black, cardstock, Happy Birthday Tag die cut. The entire piece was then backed with a sheet of clear cardstock to create the window, which was filled in with a variety of sequins, seed beads, and a number of cardstock, Tiny Feathers die cuts.
For the back of the window, I used a plain piece of white cardstock so as not to compete with everything else that was already going on. Black-threaded, straight, machine stitching secures all the layers together. The entire piece was then popped off the surface of the white, cardstock, card face with foam tape and dressed up with a double, white, seam binding ribbon bow, embellished with a black, gingham bow, as well as a black button, laced with teal twine, tied in a bow.
Thanks, as always, for humbling us with a visit! Have a blessed last day of January, and we'll see you next month! Hugs!
