Snowy Christmas In the Woods
by Sue McRae

Hello crafters, Sue here with another Christmas card. Can you believe Christmas is just one month away! Wow, the time is flying by.

Today I'm showing a white shaker card that has a pop of colour.

I started off by die cutting the House in the Woods from wood grain card stock for a bit of texture. I turned this into my shaker element by popping it up on foam strips and backing it with blue glitter card stock. I kept the shaker bits simple by adding white and iridescent stars, beads and sequins. Just a few of each.

Next, the sentiment was stamped on the card base so I could work the snowflakes around it. I die cut a bunch of Ava Snowflakes from the same white card stock as the card base so the snowflakes would blend into the background.

This is an easy and fairly quick card to make. The part that takes the longest is adhering all those snowflakes!

I'd like to wish all our American friends a Happy Thanksgiving!

Morning Sue, Happy Thanksgiving to all our American lovelies.
Sue, I absolutely adore this shaker card, I love how you have created the 'alternative' embossed background, more time consuming but so, so effective. The House in the Woods, onto woodgrain card looks fabulous. An ideal card and looks quite simple to make, I may have to try this one, thank you so much for the inspiration.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Gorgeous shaker card!! Wonderful mixes of cutting dies, and so beautifully done.

Stunning!

Oh Sue, what a great card. There aren't a lot of elements, but your embossing of the house panel (wood-grain=genius) and the card base, really give this card high grades.

I would have never thought to use glitter paper as a background for a shaker card, but I'm going to write that one down in my idea journal. If you fit that "Merry Christmas" in the space left by an embossing folder, I have a couch you could help me fit into my bathroom!

Wishing you winter wonderlands, and much joy during the holiday season.

Beautiful, love the sequins inside for the snow, great idea for a shaker!

Wow, Sue--love every single element of this beautiful card! You've inspired me!
