House in the Woods
by Jeanne Jachna
Jeanne here today with a monochromatic winter themed card. When I saw the House in the Woods die it looked so peaceful. I could picture it blanketed in snow on a cold winter's night. I wanted to create that feeling you have when you're alone walking in the woods - when you're totally at peace - the air is crisp, and there is a calm about you.
To create a glow behind the cabin I used a water color wash. I kept the color more concentrated at the top and used water to lighten the bottom of the panel.
I stamped the "Peace" sentiment from the Poinsettia Peace Clear Stamp set in blue ink, and then wrapped blue twine around the panel several time. It's secured on the back side with tape.
I wanted to duplicate the colors of the watercolor panel on the card base to give a false impression that the die cut was open so I added panels of colored card stock to the base before adhering the die cut panel. I added a few sequins to make the sky starry... or maybe some snow is just about to land?
I hope you have a great day!
