Crystal Snowflake Corner
by Sue McRae
Hello crafters, Sue here today with a Christmas card...or two.
I couldn't wait to get inky with the Crystal Snowflake Corner Frame. It's such a pretty die to use to frame a card and there's lots of room to add die cuts or sentiments inside the frame.
After I die cut the frame from white card stock I added Versamark ink all over the die cut, sprinkled it with embossing powder and heat set. I found this pretty light blue embossing powder that has different sizes of clear particles in it that adds such amazing sparkle. I really wish you could see it in person, it's perfect for frosty winter cards.
For the background I took white card stock and sponged on Distress Inks for a night sky. I sprayed the piece with Perfect Pearls, flicked on white opalescent paint and white Distress Paint to add snow to the sky and adhered that behind the frame.
I die cut the We Wish You A Merry Christmas die from red foil card stock, adhered it to the background and the card is done. Lots of sparkle and shine going on.
I thought that the red foil might be a little too dark on the inked background so I made a second card identical to the first except I die cut the We Wish You A Merry Christmas from white satin pearl card stock.
The white does pop a lot more but I couldn't pick a favourite so I'm showing you both and you can let me know in the comments which card you prefer.
Thanks for visiting with me today!

Morning Sue, Two lovely cards, thank you for the tutorial, I love both, but I'm with you, I think the 'white' is my favourite.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
They are both very pretty, I love the way you did the background too!
Wow!! Really Pretty!!!
Fabulous textures, Sue, and you have the most beautiful splatters I've ever seen. It's never even occurred to me to emboss a die cut, but I'm putting this idea in my cap. Thanks for sharing your cards and giving me some great ideas.
Both cards are beautiful. Love the snow spatters. And this die cut frame is so pretty!
So pretty. The snowflake corner is beautiful and leaves plenty of room for the sentiment die.
I love the beautiful backgrounddd, wow!!!!! It's so pretty!
Fantastic card! Love...Love...LOVE!
