Merry & Bright
by Jeanne Jachna

Merry and Bright Five
I hope you're enjoying the 2016 new releases we're showing during our blog blitz!  We're excited to show you the new products and offer you a chance to win at the same time!  Today I'm showing the new Botanica Frame die.  I love that you can use this die two different ways using the positive or the negative of the die cut image.    I started by water coloring two panels in the same bright colors - I was thinking colorful Christmas lights here.   I'm going to start by showing you the die using the positive cut.   You simply cut the die and remove the die cut outer edges and die cut pieces.

Once the panel was cut I ran it through my die cut machine again with  the Merry & Bright Sentiment.   All that was left to do was pop out the die cut sentiment, mount it on the water color panel and adhere it to a card stock base.   I layered adhesive foam in between to add more dimension.
Merry Original
For my next card I used the 'negative' of the die cut.  After I ran the  die cut through my machine I trimmed it - adding a small frame around the outside of the cuts (this card is a little larger than an A2 size).    I removed the center panel from the die and then adhered it to a water color panel.

Now for the tricky part ... adding the little die cut pieces.  I tried to keep the center panel that I removed as "together" as possible.  That way I could flip the die over, add some liquid adhesive, carefully place it over the frame and then pop the pieces out onto the watercolor panel.   Using the die cut as a template to perfectly place elements was very helpful.
Merry and Bright Three
Last I cut the "Merry & Bright" sentiment and adhered it to the watercolor panel.  I was so tempted to add some clear sequins to this one, but in the end all the bright color won out and I let it do all the talking... no sparklies required! LOL!

So which one do you like best?  I prefer the second - I'm all over those colors like a moth to a flame!

Beautiful, fun, vibrant and bright background once again, Jeanne... and paired with the white, both equally fantastic :)

Fabulous cards! Well done for such patient work in adding all the little cut-out pieces.

Both cards are beautiful Jeanne, but like you I do prefer the second one just a smidge, the colours are amazing : )

Hi Jeanne, not one but TWO gorgeous cards love them both, bright colours and crisp white, perfect for batch card makes.. thank you for the inspiration... Megan

Wow these are stunning! Definitely Merry & Bright!

Two fabulous cards, two different looks from
an awesome die. Think #1 is my favourite.

I love when you can use the positive and negative cuts!

I think they are both beautiful! I used the same die and still use it differently than you,I didn't add the tiny peices back. Very versatile die! The colors are stunning!

Love the versatility of this beautiful die and the font of the sentiment. With your brightly colored background make a stunning card.

Hi Jeanne- your cards are simply stunning! Thank you for sharing!

Wonderful cards Jeanne. Such a smart idea using the positive and negative from the die! I love the colors in both cards. Beautiful holiday sentiment dies - this one will be on my list!

Oh, I just love using my negative cuts. Lovely cards! And what an awesome job putting all those little pieces back to fit so perfectly. Gorgeous colors.

I LOVE your bright and colorful Christmas cards, Jeanne! That's a really fun rainbow technique!

Wow... your cards are stunning!! Love the bright colors and your usage of positive and negative. Great idea.

Fabulous cards! Good idea!

Just gorgeous...love those beautiful colors.

I love them both but if I had to pick, I choose the second card with those stunning colors. I do love that bontanica frame die.

LOVE.

Jeanne, this is a fabulous die, and boy did you make the most of it. What better medium to give the effect of Christmas lights, than watercolor.

The second card is my favorite too, but what a lot of work to get all the pieces in the right place. I'm going to guess, than even using your clever gluing on the back of the total die-cut, you still did some "repairing" to the final image. It was really worth the effort though, and I will be trying my hand at this clever technique soon.

The last few months have been filled to the gills with "events". I'm so glad that, at least for the moment, I can make time to see all your fabulous creations. I learn most of my die tricks from your talented creative team.

I hope you have saved a Halloween die for one of your release creations, since it is your favorite holiday. Thanks for all your efforts.

I love the second one too Jeanne! I just made this up completely classic/traditional but I love how you did it so colorful! Beautiful! I love this die!

Bright and gorgeous, love this beautiful frame!!!

Love both your cards, but must admit the second one has the edge showing off more of the bright coloured background. Thanks for showing both options with this die.

Elaine

Gorgeous die! I love both versions of the card.... but my preference is #1! Love all that white with just some color!

I couldn't choose between these two designs. They each have quite a special look! Since the odds are of not winning the die, which I love, I'll have to put it on my wish list.

Yay! I love your Blog Blitz! I am so excited to see your new products! This is a gorgeous die and you made two beautiful cards! My favourite is the bright background and white frame!
