Ombre Petal Ribbon
by Jeanne Jachna

Petal-Ribbon-Three

I hope you're having a great day!  I've got a pretty ombre card featuring the new Petal Ribbon die to share today!    This one was so fun to make.  First you'll want to choose 5 solid card stock colors.  They don't have to be different shades of the same color, they could be rainbow, or just colors that make you happy.  Next I cut the Petal Ribbon once from each color.
Petal-Ribbon-Four
I wanted to fit more flowers on the card base so I alternated the orientation of the petal ribbon die.  So flip the die cut upside down on every other color.   I think they would look great on a flat sheet of white card stock, but I wanted to fancy this up with a little debossing.   Instead of cutting the Distressed Benson Corner, I ran it through my die cut machine with my rubber embossing mat to get the debossed impression of the die.

The Petal Ribbon flowers have a bitty hole in their centers.  I topped these with little pearls.  So where are you going to get all these different colors of pearls your asking?  Here' my tip of the day...
Petal-Ribbon-Six
I purchase white pearls and color them to match with my Copic Markers.  You don't have to use Copics - any brand of alcohol marker will work.  Just make sure you give them a little time to dry before you touch them.

Those cute little butterflies?  They're from the new Hampstead Butterfly Stem!  They're adorabe and I thought they'd look cute scattered around all these colorful flowers!

Have I got you thinking about vacations in warm places yet?    Hang in there!  Spring will be here before you know it!

This is so sweet! I love the graduated colors and those sweet little butterflies!! Coloring the pearls, what a great idea too!

Love your card...so pretty!!! I do the same thing with pearls and beads...I buy either white or clear and sometimes silver works and use either my Copics or Ranger alcohol inks to color them. Always can customize this way. Great post...thanks so much for the inspiration.

What a clever card! I had never even noticed this die until I saw what you had done with it. Brilliant!

Fabulous!

Hi Jeanne, This is beautiful and so 'uplifting' in the ombre colours you have used, I love it all, a beautiful card.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Such a darling card...love the colors

I love the ombre effect of the different colors, so pretty! Thanks for the tip of the day! :-)

Very pretty Jeanne!

Gorgeous ,Jeanne! Springtime on a card!

SO beautiful Jeanne - love the colored pearls

This card is a knock-out, Jeanne. I would have never thought to stack these slender beauties one atop another, as well as reversing every other one. That debossed background really showcases the ombre ribbons to the max. I'm learning so much from you and your fabulous DT. Thank you!

I love thissssss, the effect is beautiful!

LOve everything, especially the debossed panel, and your brilliant tip of the day!!! xx
